On Memorial
Day 2004, the St. Croix Valley made a permanent and lasting
statement of thanks to its Veterans: we dedicated a Memorial that honors
those who made the ultimate sacrifice, those who served honorably in the
past, those serve today, and future service men and women. Despite a
rain shower, several hundred people enjoyed the patriotic sounds of the
34th Infantry Division "Red Bull" Band, the Croix Chordsmen
Chorus, and keynote speaker Chaplain (MAJ) John Morris who recently
returned from serving in Iraq. Our Committee Chairman John Kraemer, and
the entire Veterans Memorial Committee wishes to thank all those who
made this memorial possible through generous gifts and support that was
shown over the years in numerous ways, and all who made Dedication Day
run so smoothly. The Memorial will stand as a lasting tribute for
generations to come.
